When kindness becomes evidence.

Our mission creates something extraordinarily rare in the mental-health landscape: a new, community-driven dataset — real-time evidence of kindness, connection, and social support directed toward Veterans, active-duty military, and first responders.

Every scan begins as a simple act of kindness.

Behind that moment is something far more powerful. Each scan becomes a data point reflecting community connection, gratitude, and social engagement. Over time, these moments form a real-time record of how communities interact with Veterans and first responders through voluntary acts of support.

These are measurable signals of belonging, recognition, and social reinforcement — factors mental-health researchers have long viewed as protective, but have rarely been able to quantify at scale. Our mission creates a new way to begin seeing them.

This is not clinical data.It is human data.

A record of voluntary public engagement — not diagnoses, medical records, or individual mental-health histories.

A new lens on the forces that help people endure.

The dashboard can transform millions of individual gestures into a larger picture of how communities choose to show up.

01

Community connection becomes visible.

Community connection is one of the strongest predictors of mental-health resilience. Until now, it has been extraordinarily difficult to observe these interactions in a structured, real-time way. Each voluntary scan creates a measurable signal of support as it happens.

02

Positive social signals can be studied over time.

Patterns may emerge across time and place: how often communities engage, how participation varies by region, and how sustained acts of gratitude relate to hope, motivation, and belonging.

03

New prevention questions become possible.

Suicide prevention is not the mission itself. Yet the movement may give researchers new tools, insights, and hypotheses for understanding how community-driven support influences protective factors.

A national map of kindness, alive in real time.

The Veteran Impact Dashboard is more than a display of gratitude. It is a living, evolving dataset that grows with every scan. As participation expands, it becomes a reflection of how communities choose to stand with those who have served.

In the years ahead, universities, public-health researchers, and social-science institutions may be able to study this resource and explore questions that were previously difficult to measure.

Questions this movement can help bring into focus
  1. 01

How does community engagement change over time?

  2. 02

What patterns emerge in regions with strong Veteran networks?

  3. 03

Can sustained acts of gratitude strengthen feelings of purpose or belonging?

  4. 04

How do community-driven movements influence mental-health outcomes?

Community as a mental-health asset

For decades, mental-health research has focused on clinical interventions. This mission introduces another variable: community itself.

By equipping Veterans with decals and empowering communities to participate, we are creating a national movement that not only honors service — it generates a dataset that may one day help researchers unlock new breakthroughs in mental-health science.

The long-term opportunity

A simple act of kindness today becomes a data point that may help save lives tomorrow.
